Crossing France in the winter, from nice to London

I'm looking for some advice as to which route I should take crossing France from nice to London. I'm pretty flexible with route but would be looking for the easiest riding conditions- minimal wind, hills and cold. Any advice would be much appreciated!

from nice to avignon by the sea borders than through the Rhone valley(wind!!) to Lyon direction Paris ,passing by the north and straight to Calais, you can easy pplan it on "ride with gps"1400km??
