Hospitality Issues
I have just had exactly the same experience. Prepared for a visitor who did not show. May have been a missed communication, but it can certainly be a little frustrating. Perhaps, though , this is just in the nature of cycle touring.
NO Show
I also just had the same this week-end. I just finished with my two week tour a couple of week ago and I used a Warm Shower host one night and the thought of making that commitment was a big decision, and I only call the host 2 days before I got to his home. My host was the greatest and this is the only reason that I still particapate, but it makes it tough with NO SHOWS
No Shows
Not turning up at a host is reasonable on tour things go wrong,but not letting them know is unforgivable!
