One thing that people have asked for for a long time is the ability to write about their experiences with the members they've stayed with or hosted. Well, now you have something better than this forum.

Now, if you go to a member's profile page, near the bottom there's a new section called "Members I Recommend and Who Recommend Me" and you can click and recommend them and tell thestory of your visit.

There are a couple of ideas here:

• Writing a note here is a way to say "thanks".
• The list of recommending members should be one additional way for potential hosts especially to feel more confidence about a member who is requesting a visit.
• It's just nice to see reciprocal hospitality working, and this shows it!

You can also post a negative "recommendation", of course. Not many people have had bad experiences with Warmshowers.org members, but if you do, it is probably important to let others know about it. If you do post a negative comment about a member, please send Roger a note about it, so that he can contact the member in question. In the few problem cases we've had (maybe only one) we have ended up deleting a membership.

PS: If you make a mistake with a recommendation, you can easily edit or delete it. Just go to your profile page and go to the list at the bottom. You'll see "edit" and "delete" links for your recommendations. Here's a screenshot:
