Bicycling in Venice

I'm going to make a bicycle tour from Austria over Venice till Rome, and I have planned to stay in Venice for a couple of days. I have looked up if there is any chance to take my bicycle into the city, not for riding it but for storing it at my accomodation, but it seems that this is not possible since bicycles are forbidden in the city. But I also haven't found anything where I could store my bike otherwise, secure for a couple of days?
Does anyone know anything about that?

Suggest you change your accommodations from Venice proper to Mestre on the mainland. Lots of reasonable accommodations close to the Mestre train station and a train from Mestre to Venice every few minutes for €1.50 approx. Trains operate from way early to late, late night. Hotels, pensions on mainland near Mestre Station can accommodate storage of bike and kit.
