The border crossing at

The border crossing at Khunjerab Pass does not allow bicyclists to enter China riding a bicycle.

These are the possible options:

1. Cycle all the way in Pakistan to the top of the Khunjerab pass. From that point entry into China is not allowed.

2. Cycle to Sost immigration post, put bike on the bus, pass Khunjerab with mandatory continuation (125 km) to Tashkurgan in China. Start cycling again from there.*

3. Cycle to the top of Khunjerab, cycle back to Sost and take the bus from there into China.

For those interested in racing (not me): from 13 to 16 June 2019 the Gilgit to Khunjerab international "Tour de Khunjerab" cycle race is planned to take place. Last year 100+ cyclists took part.

* Same procedure as at the Kyrgyz/China border.
