I am a month into a two-month cycling tour around Europe. This week I will cross the Alps in Austria to Slovenia before planning to head into northern Italy.
My route through Italy is: Udine - Padua - Vicenza - Verona - Sirmione - Bergamo - Lugano and to Interlaken in Switzerland.
I have had a few Warm Showers hosts warning me against cycling in this area of Italy, telling me stories about crashes and poor cycling conditions.
I was just wondering if anyone could put my mind at ease or confirm that I should choose a different route in regards to this area. I'm fairly inexperienced in regards to Italy and its driving conditions, but I am really keen to cycle through the country and cross the Alps here.
