cycling in West Virginia

Hi everybody

I will be in the US for 3 weeks starting my trip in Washington DC, and riding to C&O canal plus a bit of the GAP till Connellsville. From here I would like to cycle to Morgantown and then further to get onto the Greenbrier rail trail.

I am not sure what would be a good route from Morgantown to Elkins, and secondly, how best to get to the southern start of the Greenbrier rail trail.

Who has cycled in this area and has some good Information on back roads for me? Or is it better to start at Cass? I want to end up in the Shenendoha Valley for the Skyline drive and to get back to Leesburg as my final Destination

any Suggestion is appreciated.

thanks, Ulla
