Cycle Touring Workshop suggestions

Greetings fellow cycle tourists,

I am looking at partnering with a local bike store and distributor to run a Cycle Touring Workshop this winter. Recognizing that there is lots of info online, in books, and just simply by chatting with friends, I would love to get your thoughts on what would make a workshop stand out from the rest.

Is it the opportunity to meet fellow cycle tourists? To check out the newest gear, including e-bikes? To learn about new destinations? Or just to share some of your experience with others and pick up some helpful nuggets? I am also trying to think of what kind of info would be most practical to someone just starting out.

Many thanks!
John
